Crane for Ford Flatbed Truck

In this case, we installed a Knap On Crane Hand Hydraulic with an additional manual extension and electric wire hoist on a Ford flatbed truck.

The crane is primarily used for lifting plate compactors and other compact machinery on and off the truck bed. The focus is on eliminating heavy manual lifting and creating a safer and more ergonomic working environment.

The goal was to provide a strong, flexible, and reliable crane solution without compromising the vehicle’s payload capacity or everyday usability.

Base Plate System and Flexibility

The crane is mounted using our universal base plate system underneath the truck bed, keeping the loading area completely free and fully usable.

The base plate system is designed for maximum flexibility and allows the crane to be lifted out without tools and moved to other vehicles or trailers equipped with a compatible base plate.

This flexibility means the company only needs one crane and multiple base plates, providing an economical and practical solution where the crane can always be positioned exactly where it is needed.

Power and Operation

The crane’s electric functions are powered directly through the vehicle’s 12V battery.

The system is designed to avoid unnecessary battery drain and does not require the vehicle to idle while the crane is in use.
