Knap On Crane and Trolley for Aarhus Vand

Aarhus Vand, a recognised provider of water supply and wastewater management, approached us with a specific need: a solution for maintaining the treatment basins at their wastewater treatment plants.

The organisation, known for its innovative approach to water treatment and sustainability, faced a challenge when it came to lifting and transporting heavy agitators in and out of the basins safely and efficiently. Our task was to modify our standard Knap On Crane to meet these specific requirements.

The Challenge

The requirements for the solution were clear. Aarhus Vand needed a small, portable crane that could be mounted on a sack truck to make handling the agitators easier.

The crane needed to be easy to move around the facility, simple to operate and capable of lifting heavy loads without compromising safety. It was also essential that the crane could be adapted to the existing infrastructure at the wastewater treatment plant.

Our Solution

After a thorough assessment of the requirements, we presented the Knap On Crane as the ideal solution.

The Knap On Crane is known for its flexibility and easy installation. It can be quickly mounted and removed without the need for special tools, making it ideal for tasks that require frequent relocation and adjustment.

To meet the need for mobility, we developed a custom-built sack truck designed to carry the crane. The transport trolley was designed to handle the additional weight of both the crane and the agitators while maintaining manoeuvrability in the limited spaces around the treatment basins.

Installation and Customisation

The implementation of the solution involved several steps. First, the transport trolley was adapted to ensure that it could safely handle the crane and the specific loads involved.

The Knap On Crane was then mounted onto the transport trolley. This configuration allowed operators to move the crane easily to the required locations around the treatment basins.

The integrated system was thoroughly tested to ensure that it could withstand the daily demands of the wastewater treatment facility. The tests confirmed that the combination of the Knap On Crane and the custom-built transport trolley met all of Aarhus Vand’s requirements for functionality and safety.
