Sign Block Lifting Attachment and Crane Solution for NCC

In close collaboration with NCC, we developed a specialised lifting attachment for handling heavy sign blocks. The attachment is designed to be used together with our Knap On Cranes and helps NCC employees handle sign blocks weighing up to 30 kg in a safer and more efficient way.

The Challenge

At NCC, employees regularly handle heavy sign blocks used for construction site safety and traffic management.

The sign blocks can weigh up to 30 kg each, making daily handling physically demanding and increasing the risk of strain and work-related injuries.

NCC needed a solution that could:

Reduce manual lifting of heavy sign blocks.

The challenge was to create a practical attachment that could be used directly on a mobile crane solution and adapted to the working conditions on construction sites.

Our Solution

ASP Product developed a customised sign block lifting attachment designed specifically for NCC.

The attachment can be mounted directly onto our Knap On Cranes, creating a flexible lifting solution for handling sign blocks on site.

The solution features:

Lifting capacity up to 80 kg – allowing the handling of up to two sign blocks at the same time.
Compatibility with all Knap On Crane models – the attachment can be combined with cranes in different heights, lengths and lifting speeds.
Flexible crane configuration – the cranes can be adapted to specific tasks and equipped with electronic remote control for easier operation.

The development process was carried out in close cooperation with NCC to ensure that the final solution matched their daily workflow and practical requirements.

Installation and Customisation

The sign block lifting attachment was developed as an integrated part of NCC’s existing work processes.

By combining the attachment with a Knap On Crane, employees can now lift and position sign blocks without heavy manual handling.
