Crane for Pickup Truck

In this case, we installed two Knap On Cranes Foldable 220 kg on pickup trucks. The installations were carried out on an Isuzu D-Max and a Ford Ranger, where the customer required a compact and efficient crane solution for everyday lifting tasks from the truck bed.

Pickup trucks are commonly used for service work and construction projects where flexibility and mobility are essential. It was therefore important to provide a crane that is lightweight, strong, and easy to operate.

Foldable Crane Mounted on the Truck Bed

Both cranes are mounted on the outer corner of the truck bed. This position provides an excellent working radius and allows loads to be lifted directly onto the bed without damaging the vehicle’s bodywork.

The crane features a fixed 850 mm outreach, providing sufficient reach for most lifting tasks while keeping the load clear of the side of the vehicle during operation.

With an own weight of only 20 kg, the crane has minimal impact on the vehicle’s payload capacity, and the installation does not require additional vehicle inspection or approval. This makes the solution both practical and cost-effective.

As a pickup truck crane, this model is particularly well suited for customers looking for a lightweight, discreet, and highly functional lifting solution.

Electric Wire Hoist Powered by the Vehicle’s 12V System

The cranes are equipped with a 3-metre electric wire hoist powered directly by the vehicle’s 12V battery.

The system is designed for low power consumption, ensuring that the battery is not unnecessarily drained during operation and that the engine does not need to idle while the crane is in use.

Power is supplied through a standard Anderson connector, providing a simple and reliable electrical connection.

As part of the installation, we also fitted an additional power outlet for an LED work light, ensuring visibility when working in low-light conditions or during evening or winter operations.

The Knap On Folding Crane 220 kg is a compact and efficient lifting solution for pickup trucks. It occupies very little space, folds quickly in and out of position, and provides the lifting capacity required for daily service and construction work.
